Abstract
The Second Sir Henry Bessemer Lecture of the Steel Division of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining was held on 30 September 2004 in London. The lecture was preceded by a masterclass and followed by the Steel Division Annual Dinner. Sponsored by Corus, VAI UK, Multiserve and BOC, the event also involved the presentation of 2004 Institute awards relevant to the steel industry.
