Abstract
One of the most striking features of recent research on structure/property relationships in two-phase alloys has been the swing towards the establishment of rigorous quantitative theoretical models and the associated attempts to obtain the necessary experimental data to test these models. This compares favourably with earlier work, where structure/property relations were often studied in a qualitative or, at best, a semiquantitative fashion.
