It is possible to take profile radiographs with a standard dental x-ray machine. Using a small sized cassette and a focal distance of 4 ft 6 in. to 5 ft, sufficient accuracy can be obtained for normal clinical use. Information is given about the equipment required, costing about pound;12 sterling (May 1973 prices) and a Simplified technique is described.
