Abstract
Temporary protectives as classified in B.S. 1133 Packaging Code, Section 6, 1966, are discussed with reference to the various storage conditions and the duration of protection required. Practical experience at the Port Talbot Works of the British Steel Corporation is described and details of a Code of Practice for use in the Works are given with general recommendations and special considerations. Preliminary cleaning methods and methods of application are also described.
