Abstract
The use of pulsed current parameters has been found to improve the mechanical properties of high strength Al–Zn–Mg–Cu welds compared to those of continuous current welds. This is due to grain refinement occurring in the fusion zone. In this investigation an attempt has been made to optimise pulsed current TIG welding parameters to attain maximum grain refinement in high strength AA 7075 aluminium alloy using statistical tools such as design of experiments, response table, and analysis of variance techniques.
