Abstract
The EPMA European Hard Materials Group (EHMG) held the fifth of its themed WINTEREV meetings at Technische Universität Wien on 19–20 February 2009. Hosted by Professor Wolf-Dieter Schubert, the meeting attracted by 25 people from 18 organisations from across industry, academia and RTOs. The meeting theme supported an informal debate on techniques for the characterisation of binder phases in hard materials.
