Abstract
This paper analyses the effect of one important off-the-road tyre maintenance practice, tyre rotation, on tyre life. Data were collected from the Kemess Mine and the relationships between tyre life, tyre wear rate and tyre rotation frequency were identified. Also, tyre rotation sequence acronyms were created to assist in analysing and determining rotation sequence at the Kemess Mine. In addition, engineering statistical approaches such as regression and correlation methods are used to analyse tyre rotation time. These quantitative results suggest that tyre life can be improved by adjusting the tyre rotation interval/frequency.
