Abstract
The α-Fe/Nd2Fe14B nanocomposite magnets were prepared by melt spinning method and subsequent thermal annealing. The effect of the annealing temperature on the microstructure and magnetic properties of these alloys have been investigated. An enhanced magnetic properties has been obtained with the annealing temperature at 610°C, where the coercivity Hc increases from 365·05 to 434·86 kA m−1 and the largest (BH)max value of 94·67 kJ m−3 is achieved. According to the Henkel plots analysis, a stronger intergrain exchange coupling is obtained for the alloys annealed at 610 and 680°C, which result in a higher maximum energy product.
