Abstract
The 26th ATS International Conference, held at Hotel Le Meridien, Paris, France on 15–16 December 2005, had 20 sessions and some 128 papers covering the primary process route plus selected product and environmental topics. Five sessions (32 papers) were on 'Ultra-steels', planned together with the National Institute for Materials Science, Japan (NIMS) and Société Française de Metallurgie and de Matériaux (SF2M). A further session on 'Innovative solutions for steel constructions' was planned together with Office Technique pour l'Utilisation de l'Acier (OTUA) and had seven papers. Twenty-four organisations were represented in the Exhibition.
