Abstract
The term cardiomyopathy represents a wide spectrum of myocardial diseases with diverse clinical features and the potential to cause debilitating symptoms, or even death. Echocardiography plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and monitoring of these disorders; contemporary techniques, such as tissue Doppler, contrast echo and 3D echo have added further value to the assessment.
