Abstract

Position and clinical history are important differential features when diagnosing congenital neck cysts. Thyroglossal duct cysts are the commonest developmental cysts in the neck. Thyroid carcinoma is rare in children, but should always be considered in a child with a solitary, or an enlarging nodule.
