Computer Aided Diagnosis in Ultrasound

Abstract

Image processing software is being used increasingly to assist in the interpretation of medical images, and this will accelerate with the roll-out of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). The issue of patient confidentiality must be addressed. Research on computer-aided diagnosis techniques has been on going in many areas of radiology though little has been published in the area of fetal ultrasound. We have found that standard approaches show promising results when applied to fetal age estimation.
