The influence of initial Fe2O3-Cr2O3 mixture particle size and composition on the black (Fe,Cr)2O3 pigment synthesis reaction has been studied. An empirical equation is proposed, based on a mathematical expression derived in a previous study, which relates these variables to resulting pigment mass fraction, synthesis time, and temperature in the studied range of operating conditions.
