Abstract
Through the media of print and broadcasting, the British Public has become aware during tbe last few decades of the problems studied by science. Here the extinction of species, the uses of herbicides and pesticides, genetic manipulation and the misuse of antibiotics are considered, and how these have become a matter of public concern.
