Abstract
Max Born a lifelong friend of Einstein, recalled personal and scientific memories of their friendship at the 1965 meeting of Nobel Laureates at Lindau im Bodensee (Lake Constance). These were subsequently published in English in Universitas [Vol. 8, No.1 p. 33 (1965)], a German quarterly review of the Arts and Sciences. Hans Rotta, the Editor of Naturwissenschaftliche Rundsclrau, the journal succeeding Universitas, has granted his kind permission to republish Max Born's personal memories here.
