Abstract
In recent years, with the greatly expanded production of all kinds of basic construction materials, particularly those for use in exacting applications, there has been an increasing demand for improvement in quality control. This requirement is rapidly escalating and new or updated testing techniques are continually being developed. This paper will attempt to outline a number of basic methods, generally applicable to many products, and will describe in more detail some recent equipment designed for the steel industry.
