Abstract
The 2 wt-%Si plane within the ternary copper-aluminium-silicon system has been studied up to 10·65 wt-%Al. This work throws serious doubts upon the system as originally published by F. Wilson in 1948 and in part supports the findings of Goodwin and Stephens in 1970. The absence of 100% K on the 2 wt-%Si plane has been proved. A hitherto undetected transformation at 545°C, together with a β+k field has been discovered. In alloys containing more than 10·35wt-%Al equilibrium structures of β+γ2 and β+k+γ2 have been found.
