Abstract
Robinson and Beevers have presented the results of experiments on titanium-oxygen alloys of various grain sizes and oxygen contents. They concluded, among other things, that both increasing grain size and increasing oxygen content decreased fatigue crack growth rate. We wish to present some recent data which are part of an extensive study on similar alloys; these data are not in agreement with the data of Robinson and Beevers. We also wish to point out other studies which support our findings.
