Abstract
The phase boundaries of the gamma loop in the irontin system have been determined by X-ray diffraction. In addition, lattice-parameter measurements have been made on homogeneous α-Fe alloys containing up to 7 wt.-% (3.4 at.-%) Sn. The solubility limits of the γ loop at 1100°C (1373K) have been found to be 0.71 and 1.29 at.-% Sn for the γ/(α + γ) and α/(α + γ) phase boundaries, respectively.
