A preliminary experimental investigation has been carried out on an isotropic three dimensional reticulated foamed metal with high porosity under biaxial tensile loading. The approximate relationship between tensile strength of these materials and their porosity has been evaluated under equal-speed biaxial tension loading. The mathematical formula is proved to be in a good agreement with the experimental data for nickel foam.
