A computer program in Basic, based on polynomial approximations, has been developed to determine the polarisation resistance from polarisation data in the immediate vicinity of the corrosion potential. Thus graphical construction of tangents is eliminated. The validity of the method was confirmed by means of theoretical polarisation models and has been successfully applied in experimental investigations.
