Abstract
The influence of chromium content on the corrosion resistance of low alloyed chromium steels is studied in 1·7M (3%) HF, 1·4M (5%) HCl, 0·75M H2S04, and 1·5M HClO4 at 45°C. The presence of chromium in the steels decreases their corrosion resistance in HF solutions, and to a lesser extent in H2SO4 and HClO4 acid solutions. There was little effect in the HCl solution.
