Abstract
The shape of measured polarisation diagrams can change greatly with time and, before credible predictions of surface behaviour based on polarisation diagrams can be made, the effect of time must be quantified. In this paper some aspects of the time-dependence of the anodic loop of 304L stainless steel in various strengths of H2SO4 are described, and it has been demonstrated that these effects can be quantified by four simple equations.
