Abstract
The corrosion reaction of Fe in 44% NH4NO3 aqueous solution at 30°,50° and 80°c has been studied. NO− 2 was formd in the initial stages of the reaction and then disappeared. The Fe corrosion rates and pH rises at different temperatures were measured. The results are correlated with the previously reported Mössbauer analysis of the corrosion products.
