Abstract
The predictions made in Part I (BCJ, 1979, 14,240–245) regarding the benefits of bromide based electrolytes for the electrochemical machining of titanium were notevaluated under conditions to be found in practice. By means of a specially designedcell in which the flow rate could be characterised and where the electrode potentialcould be continuously monitored, the conditions for the optimum rate of dissolution were obtained by the use of potentiostatic techniques at definite values of the Reynolds numbers.
