The subject of the inhibition of corrosion of cooling water systems is of continuing importance, particularly in view of the increasing demands for more efficient cooling andplant reliability. This report describes the principles of inhibition, the effects of water chemistry on inhibition, types of inhibitors and the application of these to various types of cooling system. The supervision and maintenance of cooling systems and inhibitors are also discussed.
