Abstract
The experimental verification of the determination of instantaneous corrosion rate of partially reversible metal/metal ion systems, by faradaic rectification, has been provided with the systems: Zn(Hg)/KOH, ZnO(saL) and Pb(Sb)/H2SO4, PbSO4 (sat.). The possibility of a continuous monitoring of corrosion rates for these systems has also been demonstrated.
The inaccessibility of the corrosion rate by the linear polarisation method, as well as the practical difficulties in using the Tafel plot method for corrosion determination in the above class of systems, have been brought out.
