The prevention of atmospheric corrosion in the presence of sea salt requires a level of relative humidity at least as low as 35%, and even lower if possible. Too dry an atmosphere, however, may be unwise in certain circumstances on account of its effect on timber. No experimental work on timber was included in the present research.
