Abstract
The paper describes a comparative investigation of tests for determining the propensity to dezincification of brass alloys. Eleven different alloys were tested by seven different dezincification tests, six of which have previously been used and one proposed by the authors. The results are compared, and their relation to practical conditions is discussed, in order to assess their applicability as a basis for the approval of dezincification-resistant brass alloys for tap water fittings.
