Abstract
Atmospheric stress-corrosion tests have been carried out for periods of up to 10 years on strong aluminium alloys protected with sprayed metal coatings of aluminium, zinc, and their alloys. High degrees of protection were obtained, but for the severest applications the level of the copper impurity in the coating metal had to be limited to 0·01% if maximum protection was required.
