Abstract
The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers conducted a compensation survey in March, 1995, to gather information on current salary practices in the United States and Canada. The survey was mailed to a random sampling of 3000 SDMS members. At the cutoff date for responses, 1986 completed surveys had been returned for processing, which reflects a 66.2% response rate. The SDMS is a 12,000member professional society for sonographers. Members of the Society represent all specialty areas within sonography, all levels of experience, and every level of job responsibility.
