Abstract
High nitrile resins (HNR) have acrylonitrile as their principal component. They possess excellent flexural barrier properties and good resistance to a wide range of chemicals, as well as having clarity and a high modulus. HNRs can also be shaped by most known plastic processing methods and are recyclable. They have long been used to package a wide assortment of products ranging from foods to cosmetics and agricultural chemicals to medical devices. With advances in nitrile chemistry and processing, these resins are finding increasing use in other fields including refrigeration, medical devices and MAP/CAP applications.
