Abstract
Film manufacturers are concerned with finding the optimum blend of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) which will meet customer requirements for clarity and toughness while minimizing the overall costs and the problems associated with the manufacture of polyethylene (PE) film blends. The production of PE film blends has increased over the past few years despite the increased processing cost found with LLDPE Test results show that properties of films made from these blends are related to the percentage of each resin m the blend. This correlation allows the manufacturer to meet the customers specific property needs and still be cost effective in producing the film
