A new polycarbonate (PC) resin with a lower processing temperature (215°C) has been developed to make possible the coextrusion of PC with polyvinylidene chloride copolymers (PVDC) with minimal degradation. Data confirm that the resulting sheet can be used for high barrier thermoformed packages which must undergo steam or retort sterilization.
