The intrinsic tear strengths have been measured for polymers made with INSITE* Technology, also called constrained geometry catalyst technology (CGCT), and having a wide range of physical properties. The intrinsic tear strengths allow the molecular contribution to tear strength to be determined since the samples have essentially isotropic orientation. Correlations have been obtained between intrinsic tear strengths and the physical and mechanical properties of these polymers.
