Abstract
Some relationships among polymer characteristics, processability, and properties of biaxially oriented film have been obtained in this study. For a balance between processability on a tenter frame and the film properties, an optimum level of xylene soluble fractions is preferred. Based on these results, a polypropylene material having a higher crystallinity and good processability has been developed. In addition, a beta-crystalline polypropylene that can be converted to microporous opaque film is reported.
