To review federal laws that have an impact on dispensing in hospital pharmacies.
Data Synthesis:
Information has been extracted from the Robinson-Patman Act, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act, the Internal Revenue Code, and associated regulations, policies, and court cases. Hypothetical situations are used to illustrate the application of federal law to routine dispensing functions.
Conclusions:
Each of these legal areas has a significant impact on dispensing by hospital pharmacies. Understanding these can simplify practice in many ways.
