Abstract
1. An acetylcholinesterase has been demonstrated in the central nervous system of the miracidium of Schistosoma mansoni by using acetylthiocholine and O-acetyl-5-bromoindoxyl as substrates in association with inhibitors.
2. No histochemical evidence of any nonspecific esterases, lipases or of pseudocholinesterases could be found.
