Abstract
1. A new tryptophan histochemical procedure is described.
2. The results of tests on the specificity of the reaction are reported.
3. The results of measurements of the infra-red absorption of the colored reaction product (using free tryptophan) and other similar compounds are reported and a possible structure of the reaction product is proposed.
