Abstract

The International Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (IJAPS), launched early this year, has already been read widely across the globe. With contributions from reputable international authors, we have published regular issues in a short time and featured several high-quality articles across the spectrum of aesthetic practice. The print copies have travelled across countries and have been much appreciated for their elegance, aesthetics and content.
The next crucial step is to build on this foundation so that your work in IJAPS carries clear academic value and visibility. We are pleased to share that IJAPS has already begun to receive citations from international authors in reputed journals. This early citation pattern is a strong signal that the work published is being noticed, read and used by the global community. As these citations increase, they will further enhance the journal’s standing and the reputation of your individual publications in academic circles.
To consolidate this progress, we have applied for indexing with recognised bodies such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and for membership of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). As these recognitions are expected to be received shortly, publications in IJAPS will carry even greater weight in academic credentials, including those related to NMC requirements for faculty promotions.
From the beginning, we have followed a Diamond Open Access model, with no article processing charges for authors and free access for readers. This ensures that cost is never a barrier to either publishing or reading. Your work is available to trainees, colleagues and researchers everywhere, including in resource-limited settings, which naturally enhances its reach and potential impact.
What we now need, and what I am earnestly inviting you to contribute, are high-quality submissions that reflect the best of our aesthetic plastic surgery practice. Well-designed original studies, innovative technique papers, carefully analysed case series, robust reviews and meaningful case reports will all help shape IJAPS into a respected reference source. The editorial board is committed to a fair and constructive peer-review process that allows authors to refine their work, especially younger colleagues and emerging centres.
For faculty and aspiring academicians, choosing IJAPS for your papers is both a professional and a strategic decision. You are publishing in a journal that is steadily building recognition, already attracting international citations, and actively moving towards formal indexing and ethical accreditation. For colleagues in private practice, IJAPS offers a serious scientific home where your innovations and experience can be documented and shared with a discerning readership. It earns you recognition among peers and inspires greater confidence in patients who come to you.
Every established journal has a formative period during which its direction is shaped by the quality and integrity of its early contributions. IJAPS is in that phase now. By submitting your best work here, you not only strengthen your own academic profile but also contribute to building a journal that represents our collective expertise in aesthetic plastic surgery on the global stage.
For IAAPS, IJAPS is more than a journal; it is the scientific voice of our association. I warmly invite you to consider IJAPS as a preferred destination for your future submissions. With your support, we can raise our IAAPS publication to global standards in aesthetic plastic surgery.
