Abstract
Our engagement with Neil Smith's concept of revanchism, particularly in relation to neoliberal urban restructuring, reframes it through the lens of masculinity at a hemispheric scale. We begin by examining the reception of Smith's work within Latin American critical geography, tracing how revanchism has been selectively appropriated and reinterpreted. We then build on existing formulations of revanchist masculinity to theorize a multiscalar formation that extends beyond the urban, articulating gendered, racialized, and classed power across the Americas.
