Abstract
Paraneoplastic encephalitis associated with anti-Hu antibodies is a rare neurological condition often linked to malignancies, including small-cell lung cancer, but is less commonly associated with pancreatic carcinoma. We report a case of paraneoplastic encephalitis in a patient with pancreatic carcinoma presenting with progressive neurological symptoms, including confusion and cognitive decline. Anti-Hu antibodies were detected in the serum, confirming the diagnosis. Despite management of the underlying malignancy, the patient’s neurological symptoms progressed. This case highlights the importance of recognizing paraneoplastic neurological syndromes in pancreatic cancer and underscores the need for early detection and intervention to potentially improve neurological outcomes.
