Abstract

Suzanne M de la Monte (2021) Heterogeneous Longitudinal Antibody Responses to Covid-19 mRNA Vaccination. Clinical Pathology. DOI: 10.1177/2632010X211049255
Following publication of “Heterogeneous Longitudinal Antibody Responses to Covid-19 mRNA Vaccination”, the publisher was notified by a Research Compliance Officer at Providence Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center (PVAMC) that the article erroneously stated that approval was provided by PVAMC IRB. Approval for human subjects research and a waiver of written approved informed consent were not granted for this study.
The corresponding author explained that they received IRB approval to examine antibody responses in COVID-19 infected individuals and were granted a waiver of informed consent. This data was not included in the publication and therefore the approval and waiver did not apply to the published paper.
The PVAMC IRB reviewed the publication and determined that it was human subjects research which would have required IRB approval and informed consent from the research participants. The PVAMC deemed this study to be non-compliant with Federal regulations governing human subjects research.
Due to lack of required IRB oversight for the research reported in this article, the Clinical Pathology Editor retracts this article.
