Abstract
The Indian healthcare industry, particularly the hospitals sector, is experiencing significant transformation, necessitating an evolution in talent management practices. This article explores the unique challenges and various opportunities that come with managing paramedics, nurses and doctors in a rapidly changing environment. It examines workforce trends, skills gaps, technological integration, retention strategies and the impact of global influences on the local workforce. Additionally, it delves into the demand–supply dynamics of nurses and paramedics, the emergence of new skill requirements and strategies to bridge the talent gap. Drawing from contemporary human resource (HR) practices and supported by recent studies, this article provides actionable insights for HR professionals to effectively address the dynamic needs of healthcare talent management.
