Abstract
The article examines the relationship between supplier relationship management (SRM) and innovation performance. Additionally, the article examines the moderating role of supply chain visibility (SCV) in the indirect relationship between SRM and innovation performance through supply chain agility (SCA). To test the hypothesized relationships, a research model grounded in the resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capabilities theory (DCT) was developed. A survey of firms in Ghana was conducted, and 232 usable responses were received. The research model was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) in Amos and Hayes’ Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Process. The results revealed that SRM has a positive and significant relationship with SCA. Also, the results revealed that SCA significantly mediates the indirect relationship between SRM and innovation performance. The results further revealed that SCV moderates the indirect relationship between SRM and innovation performance through SCA. To the best of the researcher’s knowledge, this is one of the few studies that empirically examines the relationship between SRM and innovation performance, and investigates the conditions and mechanisms through which SRM is leveraged to drive innovation performance.
