Abstract
This case study narrates the journey of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur, toward achieving the highest National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation of A++. It details the visionary leadership of Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak and the transformative steps taken to elevate the academic, administrative, and infrastructural standards of the institution. The case reflects the university’s commitment to student-centered policies, adoption of the National Education Policy, and the emphasis on industry–academia collaboration. The study also highlights the challenges faced in the NAAC accreditation process, particularly in terms of aligning curriculum with industry demands and improving teaching, learning, and research capabilities. The reforms implemented in governance, transparency, curriculum design, and the pursuit of excellence in research and innovation have positioned CSJMU as a leading institution in higher education.
