Abstract
Hypercalcemia due to malignancy can have several causes. Vitamin D mediated hypercalcemia is rare in solid organ tumors. In this case report, we describe a patient diagnosed with Müllerian uterine malignancy who presented to the hospital exhibiting typical symptoms of hypercalcemia, including fatigue and constipation. Laboratory investigations revealed that the hypercalcemia was primarily driven by elevated levels of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D. Despite multiple interventions aimed at reducing the calcium levels, it remained elevated until chemotherapy was administered. This case highlights an unusual presentation of hypercalcemia associated with a solid tumor, specifically a Müllerian uterine malignancy, and underscores the complexities linked to 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D-induced hypercalcemia.
