The article is of unusual significance for the insights it contains with regard to the resolution of a perplexing and crucial problem in our day, namely, the proper Christian response to the current popular demand for tolerance and neutrality in the matter of religious conviction in the matrix of sensitive nationalisms and extensive intercultural exchange.
The Reverend Mr. Svein Hanssen-Bauer, who holds a B.D. degree from the University of Oslo, is an ordained minister of the Church of Norway (Lutheran) and a lektor (teacher) in the Frogner Skole in Oslo. Currently he is directing a study of “The Church and the Underdeveloped Countries” for the Egede Instituttet, of which Professor Doctor O. G. Myklebust is the Director.
