Abstract
In this exploratory study of students1 attitudes towards geography, the variables of education level, gender, and students ' conceptualization of geography were examined as possible influences on attitude. A questionnaire was developed to obtain information on ranking of geography with other subjects, students' conceptualization of what geography is, and students ' attitudes toward geography. Statistical analysis of responses to the questionnaire had no significant influence on attitude towards geography. The results indicated the need for more thorough questionnaire design and examination of a broader range of variables.
