The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship of student, teacher, and learning environment variables to attitude toward the school subject of social studies. Data were collected from students in grades four, seven, and nine. Results Indicated that student motivation, teacher quality, social-psychological and management-organization variables were most consistently related to social studies attitudes for each grade level and gender.
